I have known Dr Murtaugh since his time as a resident in internal medicine at The Ohio State University. Since then, I have followed his career with interest and admiration from success as a faculty member and leader at Tufts University SVM to his success at nonprofit Dove Lewis Emergency Hospital Group, to his success in corporate veterinary medicine at VCA, and currently at Thrive Pet Healthcare. He has a breadth of experience in specialty veterinary medicine, and knowledge as an academic veterinarian. Dr. Murtaugh stated focus on “unleashing access to care” and vision for accomplishing this broad goal will serve the profession very well. He has the demonstrated leadership skills and integrity to move programs forward.

Bob Murtaugh has accumulated a unique spectrum of experiences throughout his career. He has a proven track record in private practice, academia, and business. His broad exposure across the scope of veterinary medicine would be particularly beneficial to all organizations as it continues to face the present challenges of the profession. While many may cringe and wail about those challenges, Bob is a doer – and finds ways to overcome or navigate around obstacles he may face. Above all, he is a man of integrity. These are just some of the reasons I am supporting in his initiatives.
