Bio
Bob graduated in 1980 from the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his residency at the Ohio State University in 1984 and board certification in veterinary internal medicine in 1985. Bob was a faculty member at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine from 1984 to 1998 where he founded Tufts’ ECC program. During his time at Tufts Bob worked with several other ECC pioneers to form ACVECC and initiate the first VTS specialty, also in ECC. Bob served as the Program Chair for the first several IVECCS and is a Past-President of both VECCS and ACVECC.
From 1998 to 2000, he served as the Chief of Staff at the Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital Group in Portland, Oregon. Bob was with VCA Animal Hospitals from 2000 to 2015 as a practicing Specialist, Medical Director, and Regional Medical Director encompassing primary care and specialty practice oversight and operations in New England, New York, New Jersey, the Mid-Atlantic, Chicago, New Mexico, and Southern California. Bob joined Pathway Vet Alliance, now Thrive Pet Healthcare, in 2015 as a partner and Chief Medical Officer. He was an instrumental contributor to the growth of Thrive Pet Healthcare from 15 to now more than 350 veterinary locations providing a variety of quality small and large animal services over 37 States prior to “retiring” in December 2022.

Lifestyle
Bob and his lovely wife, veterinarian Dr. Jill Clark, live on a farm outside of Austin, TX, where they raise and show Quarter Horses and enjoy their many dogs, two cats, three goats, chickens, and miniature Belted Galloway cattle. Bob has two adult children, Kendyl, a producer for NBC Nightly News, and Hunter, who is in his second year of Law School.
